Be advised of this new scam we were alerted too:

A local woman lost $8,800 in a scam after she got a notification on her cell phone purportedly from the FBI and Social Security Administration.

The woman told police that she received a text message warning her that agents from the FBI and Social Security Administration would come to her home unless he transferred $8,800 to an encrypted-code address through Bitcoin Depot, a crypto-currency ATM. The message also allegedly instructed her not to call the police, the report said.
