Veteran pitcher Miles Mikolas delivered a strong performance on Sunday, helping the St. Louis Cardinals secure a 3-2 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers at American Family Field. The win came before a sold-out crowd of 42,269.

Mikolas, who is in the final weeks of a two-year contract extension signed before the 2023 season, limited the Brewers to two runs over five innings. He allowed five hits, including solo home runs by Caleb Durbin and Danny Jansen. In his fifth inning of work, after surrendering a homer to Jansen that brought Milwaukee within one run, Mikolas retired Andrew Monasterio on a groundout, struck out Sal Frelick looking, and induced Jackson Chourio to fly out to center field.

With this outing—his 201st career start for St. Louis—Mikolas evened his seven-year record with the club at 68-68. He has now given up two or fewer runs in each of his last four starts.

The Cardinals’ win snapped a five-game losing streak and kept their postseason hopes alive for at least another day. After losing three games in Seattle and dropping the first two contests in Milwaukee, St. Louis remains four games behind the New York Mets for the third National League Wild Card position. The team faces additional challenges as several clubs—including the Giants, Reds, and Diamondbacks—stand between them and a playoff berth.
