Atchison County is seeking letters of interest from those interested in serving on the Board of Trustees of the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall.  The Board of Trustees is responsible to manage and control Memorial Hall, which is located at 819 Commercial Street, Atchison Kansas.  There are three Trustees on the Board.  The Trustees are each appointed by the Board of County Commissioners to serve a term of three years.  Each Trustee must be a resident of Atchison County, Kansas.  Preference is given to persons who have seen service in the Army, Navy or Marine Corps of the United States in time of war.  

Those interested in serving should send a letter of interest to Michelle Phillips, Atchison County Clerk, 423 North 5th Street, Atchison, Kansas 66002.  Letters will be accepted by mail, email to mphillips@atcoks.org, or by depositing in the drop box located outside the north doors of the courthouse.  Please include your contact information for validation of receipt.  You should receive notification from me within 24 hours, if not, please reach out to the Clerk’s Office.

Deadline for submission of the letters of interest will be Wednesday, February 3, 2023, at 5:00 pm.  The Commission will consider the letters at the meeting set for February 7, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in the County Commission Room in the basement of the Courthouse.
