St. Louis CITY SC secured their third straight away win with a 3-1 result over Austin FC on Saturday at Q2 Stadium. Marcel Hartel was the key player for St. Louis, scoring twice in the first half. His opening goal came in the 28th minute, assisted by Alfredo Morales. Austin equalized eight minutes later through Oleksandr Svatok, but Hartel restored the lead just before halftime with his second goal, set up by Célio Pompeu and João Klauss.

In the second half, St. Louis limited Austin to only one shot on target and added a late insurance goal from Simon Becher in stoppage time, again with an assist from Morales.

After a bye week, St. Louis will play their final regular season match of 2025 at home against Real Salt Lake on October 18.

Marcel Hartel’s two goals marked his ninth of the season and his second career MLS brace, both achieved this year. He is now tied with João Klauss as the team’s top scorer with nine goals each. Hartel has contributed to eight goals—five scored and three assisted—in his last eight league matches.

Simon Becher recorded his third goal of the campaign while Alfredo Morales registered his first two assists of the season. João Klauss notched his third assist in four games, and Célio Pompeu earned his third assist this year.

The victory marks St. Louis’ first streak of three consecutive road wins since June-July 2023. The club improved its all-time record against Austin FC to four wins, one draw, and one loss.
