The founder and medical director of St. Louis Sinus Center is Dr. James D. Gould According to the company website, Dr. Gould founded Synergy ENT Specialists in 1999, and in 2010, he established the St. Louis Sinus Center in Festus. With the founding of the St. Louis Sinus Center, he began performing balloon sinus dilation procedures in-office, and positive feedback regarding the procedure began to spread. The company website says that patients traveled from surrounding cities, counties, and states in order to receive the minimally invasive procedure. From there, the clinic began performing multiple other in-office treatments as well.

Dr. Gould finished his residency training at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, where he received honors for his research achievements in basic science, according to the company website. According to Nuffield Health, balloon sinuplasty is a safe and effective procedure used to treat chronic sinusitis. During the procedure, physicians introduce a guide wire with a small balloon into the blocked area of a patient’s nasal passages, where it is gently inflated to create an opening in the sinuses. Patients typically experience a fast recovery period after the procedure.

Since 2010, Dr. Gould has carried out thousands of balloon sinus dilation procedures at the St. Louis Sinus Center, according to the company website.
