The St. Louis Blues have reduced their training camp roster by 20 players, according to an announcement from President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong.

Eighteen players were assigned to the team’s American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds. The list includes forwards Nikita Alexandrov, Sam Bitten, Hugh McGing, Matthew Peca, Juraj Pekarcik, Dylan Peterson, Simon Robertsson, Sam Stange, Jakub Stancl, Nikita Susuev, and Christopher Wagner. Defensemen Michael Buchinger, Quinton Burns, Marc-Andre Gaudet, Samuel Johannesson, and Anthony Kehrer were also sent to Springfield. Goaltenders Will Cranley and Vadim Zherenko rounded out the group heading to the AHL.

In addition to these assignments, forward Justin Carbonneau (Blainville-Boisbriand - QMJHL) and defenseman Adam Jiricek (Brantford – OHL) were returned to their respective junior teams.

Doug Armstrong stated: "St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today that the Blues have assigned 18 players to their AHL affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds..."

This move comes as part of standard preseason procedures for NHL teams as they finalize rosters ahead of the regular season.
