Enterprise Center | St. Louis Blues
When the St. Louis Blues begin their season against the Minnesota Wild on October 9, fans at Enterprise Center will experience a new pregame show that emphasizes rock and roll music. This marks the third installment in the team's Rhythm & Blues open video series, with this year's edition focusing on a louder and more energetic presentation.
Trevor Nickerson, Vice President and Executive Producer of Blue Note Productions, described the evolution of the show: "What started with Marquise Knox and Meet Me in St. Louis has now evolved into something bigger, louder, and grittier. We wanted to bring fans something that feels true to St. Louis — a story that hits you in the chest the moment it starts."
The pregame show features a new cover of Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs,” produced by German team 2WEI, known for cinematic remixes. The Blues collaborated with local radio station KSHE 95 to highlight St. Louis’ musical history and honor Ozzy Osbourne, whose image in a Blues jersey is well known among fans.
Nickerson explained how they settled on the concept: "Someone mentioned Ozzy, and it just clicked. KSHE 95 and the Blues share the same birthday. We came in at the same time. Ozzy’s been tied to our history. War Pigs just felt right — it had the bite, the beat, and the energy we wanted."
To create visuals for the show, the team worked with Cincinnati-based 4th Floor Creative to build a set featuring vintage speakers and a garage scene reminiscent of classic rock videos from past decades.
Nickerson shared some behind-the-scenes details: "We actually had a crew buying speakers off Facebook Marketplace," he said. "They built the whole set piece by piece, and it looks unbelievable."
The band performing in the video is Raised on Radio, made up of local high school students from St. Louis. They filmed inside a garage during one of summer's hottest days.
"We closed the door to trap the haze and control the light," Nickerson said. "It was about 95 degrees. Everyone was dripping sweat, but it worked. It looks raw, it looks real — it feels like rock and roll."
After this segment concludes on Opening Night, there will be a montage of rock classics before players take to the ice accompanied by Mötley Crüe’s “Kickstart My Heart.” This marks over fifteen years since such an entrance theme was used by the team.
"It’s nostalgic, but it’s modern," Nickerson said. "We’re leaning back into our roots — not because we have to, but because it’s part of who we are. It’s what this city grew up on."
Fans attending games can also expect updated graphics during matches as part of broader changes introduced over summer.
"This year’s show is 100% fresh," Nickerson said. "Every detail — from the visuals to the sound to the storytelling — has been rebuilt from the ground up."
Nickerson emphasized that while spectacle is important, storytelling remains central: "It all comes back to storytelling," he added. "We’re not L.A. or Vegas — we don’t need to be. What we do best is tell a story that makes people feel like they’re part of something. When you watch that video, we want you to think, I’m from St. Louis. I feel this."
The pregame show begins after warm-ups conclude on Opening Night at Enterprise Center; fans are encouraged to arrive early for seating at 6:30 p.m., with tickets available through ticketmaster.com.
