St Louis CITY2 is set to face Ventura County FC in the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro Western Conference Quarterfinal at Energizer Park on Sunday, October 19. The match will begin at 6:00 p.m. CT and will be available for streaming on MLS Season Pass via Apple TV.

CITY2’s 18-match unbeaten streak in the league ended on October 5 with a 2-1 loss to Portland Timbers2. Miguel Perez scored CITY2’s only goal in that match, converting a penalty for his tenth goal of the season.

St Louis CITY2 completed the regular season as the top seed with a record of 17 wins, 5 losses, and 6 draws, setting a new club record for regular-season performance. Two homegrown players, Mykhi Joyner and Miguel Perez, scored 15 and 10 goals respectively. Brendan McSorley led the team with eight assists. In total, eleven different CITY2 players scored during the season, with eight of them recording at least three goals.

The upcoming quarterfinal will mark the third meeting between CITY2 and Ventura County FC this year and their first playoff encounter. CITY2 holds a 2-3-1 record all-time against VCFC. Earlier this season, CITY2 lost 3-1 away in Los Angeles but won a penalty shootout 5-3 at Energizer Park in July.

St Louis CITY2 and Philadelphia Union II are the only teams to have qualified for every MLS NEXT Pro postseason since the league’s inception in 2022. CITY2’s all-time playoff record in the league stands at 4-3-0, with their best performance coming in 2022 when they reached the final but lost 4-1 to Columbus Crew 2.
