The MLB All-Star Futures Game is currently taking place at Truist Park in Atlanta, Georgia. The event showcases some of the best prospects in baseball, with coverage available on MLB Network, MLB.com, and the MLB App.
One of the highlights from this year's game includes a father-son matchup. Marquis Grissom, a two-time All-Star and 1995 World Series champion with the Braves, managed the American League team. His son, Marquis Grissom Jr., pitched for the National League team during the fourth inning. The younger Grissom allowed a run after Josue Briceño tripled to right-center and scored on a sacrifice fly by Sebastian Walcott.
Another notable moment came from Mariners prospect Jurrangelo Cijntje, who made history as the first switch-pitcher to appear in a Futures Game. Cijntje struck out two batters from the right side and retired Dodgers prospect Josue De Paula with pitches thrown left-handed.
During batting practice, Pirates prospect Konnor Griffin impressed with his bat speed and control. Brewers top prospect Jesús Made also caught attention alongside Tigers slugger Josue Briceño, who hit eight home runs during his round.
The game features 33 players from MLB Pipeline's Top 100 Prospects list, including eight of the top 19.
