St. Louis CITY SC secured a 2-1 victory over the Portland Timbers at Energizer Park on Sunday night. Despite initially trailing, St. Louis turned the game around with Marcel Hartel scoring twice in the second half. The first goal came from Hartel just after halftime, leveling the match, and his second was a header from a Conrad Wallem cross in the 67th minute.

Hartel's performance marked his first career MLS brace and brought his total goals to five across all competitions. When Hartel scores at home during an MLS regular season match, CITY SC holds an undefeated record of 3-0-0. Conrad Wallem also achieved his first career MLS assist during this match.

St. Louis has been successful recently, earning points in four of their last five home matches, with two wins, one loss, and two draws over that span.

The goal-scoring for Portland came early with David Da Costa finding the net in the 19th minute with assistance from Santiago Moreno.

In terms of misconduct, several players received cautions throughout the game including Joao Ortiz and Kevin Kelsy for Portland, while João Klauss and Jaziel Orozco were cautioned for St. Louis.

Both teams had different strategies as seen in their lineups and substitutions used throughout the match. St. Louis took more shots overall compared to Portland but both teams had several shots on target.

The referee for this match was Ricardo Montero Araya with assistance from Logan Brown, Jeffrey Swartzel, Rubiel Vazquez along with VAR Jorge Gonzalez and AVAR Fabio Tovar overseeing video review operations.

St. Louis CITY SC is set to face FC Dallas next on Saturday at Toyota Stadium.
