St Louis CITY2 is set to face Ventura County FC in an attempt to extend their record-setting eight-match win streak. The match will take place on Wednesday, July 16 at 7:00 p.m. CT at Energizer Park and will be available for streaming on MLS Season Pass via Apple TV.

In their previous game, CITY2 secured a 4-2 victory against Austin FC II at Parmer Field. Miguel Perez scored early in the first half, followed by Mykhi Joyner who converted a penalty shortly after and added another goal later. Wan Kuzain also contributed with a goal, helping St Louis maintain their lead in the MLS NEXT Pro standings with 38 points and 12 wins.

Miguel Perez achieved his fourth goal of the season while Wan Kuzain marked his first. Mykhi Joyner's performance brought him to the top of the MLS NEXT Pro Golden Boot race with ten and eleven goals this season. His sixth career brace placed him third on the all-time scoring list with 28 goals. Brendan McSorley provided his fifth assist, leading the team, while Emil Jääskeläinen recorded his fourth assist.

CITY2 has remained unbeaten on the road for four matches since May 11 and has lost only one home game this year at Energizer Park. They have already surpassed last year's point total, aiming for their best finish in MLS NEXT Pro.

Earlier this year, CITY2 lost to Ventura County FC with a score of 3-1 away from home; Ryan Becher scored St Louis' only goal. Ventura County FC comes into Wednesday's match following two consecutive losses and currently holds second place in the Western Conference standings with 30 points.
