Several prospects delivered notable performances across Minor League Baseball on Wednesday, with players from multiple organizations making an impact at various levels.

For the Memphis Redbirds, Triple-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals, JJ Wetherholt continued his strong season. Wetherholt, ranked as the Cardinals’ top prospect and sixth overall by MLB Pipeline, collected three hits from the leadoff spot. He scored two runs and stole his 21st base of the year across two levels. In his first full professional season, Wetherholt is batting .314 with a .423 on-base percentage and a .528 slugging percentage over two levels. His 157 wRC+ ranks second in the Cardinals organization. According to MLB Pipeline, “MLB Pipeline doesn’t hang a 65-grade hit tool on just anybody. Wetherholt is one of only four prospects who currently have that mark or better and he’s proven why in 2025, soaring to the Minors’ highest level while continuing to pummel opposing pitching.” The report adds: “The seventh overall pick in the 2024 Draft delivered a three-hit performance out of the leadoff spot for Triple-A Memphis, scoring a pair of runs and adding a stolen base (his 21st of the year across two levels). Wetherholt, who has 32 multihit games and 11 with three or more, is slashing .314/.423/.528 across two levels in his first full pro season and his 157 wRC+ entered the night as second in the Cardinals organization.”

Elsewhere in Triple-A action, JR Ritchie pitched six scoreless innings for Gwinnett (Atlanta Braves), striking out a career-high 11 batters and allowing just one hit.

In High-A Wisconsin’s game, Brewers prospects Jesús Made and Andrew Fischer combined for seven hits. Made has been productive since his promotion despite being among the youngest players in the Midwest League. Fischer recently hit his first professional home run.

Other highlights included Cam Caminiti throwing his first complete game as a professional for Single-A Augusta (Braves), Brody Hopkins recording eight strikeouts over five scoreless innings for Double-A Montgomery (Rays), Kash Mayfield posting nine strikeouts for Single-A Lake Elsinore (Padres), Brody Brecht striking out eight batters for Single-A Fresno (Rockies), Kaeden Kent collecting five hits for High-A Hudson Valley (Yankees), and Aaron Zavala hitting three home runs for Double-A Frisco (Rangers).

The performances reflect ongoing development among top prospects throughout Minor League Baseball.
