Milan Lucic joins Springfield Thunderbirds on professional tryout

Forward Milan Lucic will join the Springfield Thunderbirds, the American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the St. Louis Blues, on a professional tryout contract. The move was announced by Doug Armstrong, President of Hockey Operations and General Manager for the Blues.

Lucic, who is 37 years old, previously joined the Blues on a professional tryout before the 2025 training camp. During that period, he played in four preseason games and recorded one goal and one assist before being sidelined with a lower-body injury.

Lucic has played in 1,177 NHL regular-season games throughout his career. He has spent time with several teams including Boston, Los Angeles, Edmonton, and Calgary. Over his career, he has accumulated 586 points—233 goals and 353 assists—and has served 1,301 penalty minutes.
