September 19th, 2022– September 25th, 2022
On Monday, September 19th and Wednesday, September 21st, 2022, two (2) unrelated victims reported fraudulent activity on their credit cards which were reported stolen from their separate places of employment in St. Louis County. The stolen credit cards were used at a store in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road. The reporting Detective is investigating.
On Friday, September 23rd, at 1 PM, Officers recovered a reported stolen vehicle in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood parking lots. The vehicle was reported stolen by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Officers located the vehicle, initially unoccupied. Almost immediately, three (3) subjects exited a store and began to enter the stolen vehicle. Officers gave them arrest commands, but the three (3) suspects fled on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, all suspects were taken into custody. All three (3) suspects were non-Kirkwood juveniles. The case will be forwarded to the St. Louis County Family Courts for further.
On Saturday, September 24th, at 7:17 AM, a resident in the 400 block of Colony Woods reported damage to their vehicle consistent with attempted vehicle theft. Upon arrival, Officers observed the steering column of the vehicle had been stripped, exposing the internal wiring. The damage occurred between 2 PM on September 23rd and the time of report.
On Saturday, September 24th, at 8:32 AM, a resident in the 400 block of West Jefferson reported the overnight theft of her vehicle. Later in the day, the vehicle was recovered by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, parked and unoccupied, in the 63118 neighborhood..
During the week of September 19th to September 25th, 2022, along with regular calls for service and traffic enforcement, the Kirkwood Police Department responded to: 2 CIT related calls, 3 shoplifting incidents in the 1000-1200 block of South Kirkwood Road, 18 residential / business alarms, 31 motor vehicle accidents, and assisted the Fire / EMS Department on 60 calls.
