St Louis CITY2 achieved a 4-2 win against Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 on Wednesday in Burnaby, British Columbia. This result extended CITY2’s unbeaten run to eleven matches and kept the team at the top of the league standings with 46 points.

Mykhi Joyner gave CITY2 an early lead by converting a penalty in the 29th minute, marking his twelfth goal of the season. Vancouver equalized during first-half stoppage time through Mark O’Neill, but Cam Cilley restored St Louis' advantage less than a minute later with his second goal of the season. Brendan McSorley scored just after halftime, increasing the lead to 3-1. Rayan Elloumi narrowed the gap for Vancouver in the 80th minute before Emil Jääskeläinen secured victory for CITY2 with a goal in the 86th minute.

Joyner also registered his third assist of the season during this match. Cilley scored for a second consecutive game after notching his first professional goal on July 27 against MNUFC2. McSorley recorded his seventh goal of the campaign and has now found the net in back-to-back games. Jääskeläinen’s sixth goal contributed to St Louis’ fourteenth win of the year.

With this latest result, CITY2 has accumulated seven road wins in 2025 and taken 32 out of a possible 33 points during their current streak. The club has now won four times all-time against Whitecaps FC 2.

The teams’ lineups included key contributions from both sides, with Colin Welsh starting as goalkeeper for St Louis and Isaac Boehmer for Vancouver. The referee was Mathieu Souare.

St Louis will return home to Energizer Park for their next match against Colorado Rapids 2 on Sunday, August 10 at 6 p.m. CT.
