St. Louis CITY SC was defeated 3-2 by Chicago Fire FC in a Major League Soccer match held Saturday night at SeatGeek Stadium in Chicago. The result came after both teams exchanged leads during the second half.
Chicago’s Hugo Cuypers opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, giving the home team a 1-0 advantage at halftime. St. Louis responded quickly after the break, with Tomáš Ostrák equalizing just two minutes into the second half for his first goal of the season and fifth in his MLS career. Ostrák also recorded his second assist of 2025 during the match.
Marcel Hartel put St. Louis ahead in the 59th minute, scoring his fifth goal of the season and third in five matches for CITY SC. Conrad Wallem assisted on Hartel’s goal, marking his second assist this year.
Chicago then rallied with goals from Philip Zinckernagel in the 67th minute and Brian Gutierrez in the 87th minute to secure all three points.
