St. Louis CITY SC has announced the addition of forward Brendan McSorley to their first-team roster for the upcoming match against Orlando City SC at Energizer Park. This move is part of a short-term loan agreement from St Louis CITY2, marking McSorley's third appearance with the first team this season. Previously, he played 26 minutes as a substitute in a game against the Portland Timbers.
McSorley, originally from Randolph, New Jersey, has shown notable performance in MLS NEXT Pro. He has scored four goals and provided three assists in 13 matches for CITY2 this season.
According to MLS roster rules, short-term agreements permit clubs to temporarily bring players from their MLS NEXT Pro affiliates for various competitions including league matches and other tournaments like the U.S. Open Cup and Concacaf Champions Cup. Players can be included in up to four MLS matchday rosters and participate in two regular-season games under such agreements.
