Blues extend Joel Hofer's contract with two-year deal worth $6.8 million

St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced that the team has secured goaltender Joel Hofer with a two-year contract extension valued at $6.8 million, averaging $3.4 million annually.

Hofer, aged 24, participated in 31 regular-season games for the Blues last season. He achieved a record of 16 wins, 8 losses, and 3 ties. His performance included a .904 save percentage, one shutout, and his career-best goals-against average of 2.64.

Overall, Hofer has appeared in 69 regular-season games for the Blues. His record stands at 35 wins, 22 losses, and 5 ties. Over the past two seasons, he maintained a .909 save percentage and a goals-against average of 2.65. These statistics rank him eighth and twelfth among NHL goaltenders who have played a minimum of 60 games.

Joel Hofer was initially selected by the Blues in the fourth round as the No.107 overall pick during the 2018 NHL Draft.
