Blues sign three players to one-year two-way contracts

St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced the signing of three players to one-year, two-way contracts. The players are forward Matt Luff, defenseman Hunter Skinner, and goaltender Vadim Zherenko.

Luff, aged 28, played in 50 regular-season games with the Springfield Thunderbirds last season. He scored 45 points, including 18 goals and 27 assists, along with accumulating 42 penalty minutes. Additionally, he earned four points in six games with the Charlotte Checkers. Over his career in the AHL, Luff has accumulated a total of 212 points and has appeared in 106 NHL games.

Skinner, who is 24 years old, participated in 71 regular-season games with the Thunderbirds last season. He recorded eight goals and 15 assists for a total of 23 points and had 98 penalty minutes. Originally from Wyandotte, Michigan, Skinner was acquired by the Blues from the New York Rangers on February 9, 2023.

Zherenko also aged 24, played in 32 regular-season games with the Thunderbirds last season. He achieved a record of 12-17-5 with a goals-against average of 3.44 and a save percentage of .897. Hailing from Moskva, Russia, Zherenko was drafted by the Blues in the seventh round of the NHL Draft in 2019.
