The 2025 MLB Draft is set to begin on Sunday, July 13, with the first three rounds scheduled to start at 6 p.m. ET. The draft will be presented by Nike and broadcasted on MLBN, MLB.com, and ESPN. Rounds four through twenty will continue on Monday, July 14, starting at 11:30 a.m. ET.

As the draft approaches, teams are actively assessing their options for potential deals in the early rounds. However, recent trends suggest that significant trades are not common at the top of the draft.

In this latest mock draft version, Kade Anderson from Louisiana State is projected as a top candidate for the Nationals' first pick. Jim Callis mentioned on the MLB Pipeline Podcast that Anderson and Ethan Holliday are leading contenders for this position.

For the Angels' second pick, Liam Doyle from Tennessee emerges as a likely choice if Anderson is unavailable. The Mariners are expected to focus on pitchers like Seth Hernandez from Corona High School or college right-handers such as Kyson Witherspoon or Tyler Bremner.

Ethan Holliday could potentially be selected by the Rockies as their fourth pick if he remains available. The Cardinals might choose Eli Willits from Fort Cobb-Broxton High School due to his promising talent.

As teams finalize their strategies ahead of Sunday's event, each selection aims to balance immediate needs with long-term potential within their organizations.
