The Minor League baseball scene resumed with notable performances following a four-day hiatus. Several top prospects, including JJ Wetherholt, Charlie Condon, and Lazaro Montes, showcased their skills at the plate. Meanwhile, pitchers Jonah Tong, Gage Jump, and Jackson Ferris delivered strong outings.
JJ Wetherholt of Memphis (STL No. 1/MLB No. 17) had an impressive start to his Triple-A career with a four-hit game, marking his second such achievement in his professional career. "Wetherholt's Triple-A career has gotten off to a torrid start," as he scored twice and hit two doubles. He is currently slashing .314/.432/.502 over 66 games.
Charlie Condon from Hartford (COL No. 1/MLB No. 21) continued his solid performance in Double-A by hitting his first home run for Hartford and reaching base safely in eight of ten games since his promotion from High-A.
Lazaro Montes of Arkansas (SEA No. 2/MLB No. 27) added another home run to his tally, bringing him to second place in the Minors with 24 homers this season.
On the pitching front, Jonah Tong of Binghamton (NYM No. 2/MLB No. 56) maintained his lead in strikeouts by fanning seven batters over 5 1/3 innings while lowering his ERA to 1.71.
Gage Jump from Midland (ATH No. 1/MLB No. 65) impressed despite limited innings by striking out six over three innings during a bullpen appearance.
Jackson Ferris of Tulsa (LAD No. 4/MLB No. 66) delivered a standout performance with seven scoreless innings and seven strikeouts.
George Klassen from Rocket City (LAA No. 3) showed resilience after returning from injury by allowing just one hit over nearly six scoreless innings.
