Andre Pallante, Starting Pitcher | St. Louis Cardinals
As the St. Louis Cardinals continue to struggle, their rotation faces more questions following a 6-0 loss to the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field. Manager Oliver Marmol expressed his disappointment after the game, saying, “Worst game we’ve played all year, simply put.” The Cardinals managed only five hits during the match.
The team's current slump has led to speculation that they may become active sellers before the MLB Trade Deadline. Shortstop Masyn Winn acknowledged this sentiment postgame: “We’re aware that in a week some guys might not be here.”
Starting pitcher Andre Pallante struggled on Wednesday, allowing five straight hits in the second inning which contributed to an early 4-0 deficit for the Cardinals. This marks another challenging outing for Pallante, who now has an ERA of 4.91 after Wednesday’s loss.
Pallante stated that he feels ready for a full season despite discussions about managing his innings as he nears his career high from last season. “They have talked to me about [curbing my innings], but I feel good,” said Pallante.
The Cardinals are also monitoring pitcher Matthew Liberatore’s workload as he approaches his MLB high for innings pitched.
