By the time the last fan left Busch Stadium late Friday in St. Louis, Flo Rida could claim a place alongside Cardinals legends like Yadier Molina and Albert Pujols for delivering memorable performances on the field.
Flo Rida, known for hits such as "Low" and "Wild Ones," concluded the Cardinals' debut season of their postgame concert series following a 3-0 victory over the Padres. The event offered fans a combined ticket to both the game and concert, along with $5 beer and hot dogs in Budweiser Terrace. Within 40 minutes of the game's conclusion, Busch Stadium transformed into a concert venue with a stage set beyond the infield dirt.
Flo Rida engaged the crowd, encouraging them to make noise. Fans participated enthusiastically, singing along to "Low" and joining him onstage. VIP pass holders watched from the infield where players like Nolan Arenado had played earlier.
The logistics were impressive, with around 30 Cardinals employees moving stage pieces through underground tunnels after the game ended. The setup was part of a partnership with Ballpark Music (BPM), which works with several MLB clubs. BPM's president Brandon Bissell emphasized their commitment to protecting the turf during events.
Bissell initiated similar concerts while working with the Braves and has since expanded his company's services to other teams, including handling production for MLB’s All-Star festivities.
The Cardinals began planning this experience last offseason, launching their first show in June featuring Cole Swindell. "The Cardinals are one of those teams that are just iconic in the sport," said Bissell about bringing concerts to St. Louis.
Sponsored by SIUE, this year's postgame concert series was deemed successful enough that another is being considered for 2026.
As Flo Rida might say, it was a home run for St. Louis.
