The St. Louis Blues have signed forward Nikita Alexandrov to a one-year, two-way contract, according to an announcement from President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong. The deal is valued at $775,000 at the NHL level and $300,000 in the AHL, with a guaranteed amount of $350,000.

Alexandrov, 24, played 48 games last season for the Springfield Thunderbirds, the Blues’ AHL affiliate. He recorded 49 points—21 goals and 28 assists—and accumulated 20 penalty minutes. His total goals and points were both second highest on the team.

A native of Burgwedel, Germany, Alexandrov has appeared in 51 regular-season games with the Blues so far in his career. In that time he has registered nine points (three goals and six assists) along with 12 penalty minutes.

In addition to his NHL experience, Alexandrov has played in 170 career regular-season games in the AHL. Over those appearances he has totaled 129 points with 58 goals and 71 assists as well as recording 64 penalty minutes.

Blues management did not release further details about expectations for Alexandrov’s role next season.
