MLB Pipeline has updated its Top 100 Prospects list following the completion of the 2025 Draft, the Trade Deadline, and more than half a season of games. The new rankings incorporate recent draft picks and provide revised positions for top young players across Major League Baseball. Additionally, each team’s Top 30 prospects list has been refreshed to reflect current performances and organizational changes.
Konnor Griffin, a shortstop/outfielder in the Pirates organization, retains his No. 1 ranking after moving up earlier this year. Griffin was selected ninth overall in the 2024 Draft and is recognized for his combination of power, speed, and an improved hitting ability at just 19 years old. Bubba Chandler joins him in the Top 10 as another notable Pirates prospect.
Kevin McGonigle of the Tigers rises to No. 2 on the list due to his consistent performance as a .319 hitter in Minor League Baseball. Leo De Vries now represents the Athletics among the top prospects after being traded from San Diego at the deadline.
The Cardinals are represented in the Top 10 by JJ Wetherholt (SS/2B), while their recent first-round pick Liam Doyle (LHP) appears at No. 34 on the updated list.
Among new additions since preseason rankings, Brewers infielder Luis Peña made significant progress by advancing to High-A at age 18 with strong offensive numbers in his first season playing stateside.
A total of twelve players from last month’s draft have entered this midseason Top 100 update—matching last year’s number—with Ethan Holliday (Rockies), Eli Willits (Nationals), Kade Anderson (Mariners), Seth Hernandez (Pirates), Liam Doyle (Cardinals), Jamie Arnold (Athletics), Aiva Arquette (Marlins), JoJo Parker (Blue Jays), Billy Carlson (White Sox), Steele Hall (Reds), Kyson Witherspoon (Red Sox) and Tyler Bremner (Angels) all included.
Fifty-nine players remained on the list from preseason to midseason; twenty-nine others graduated to Major League status while twelve dropped off entirely.
Josue Briceño of Detroit is noted as one of this update’s biggest risers following a strong campaign that built on his Arizona Fall League Triple Crown achievement last year.
This edition sets a record with thirty shortstops included among MLB’s top prospects—a position often regarded as key for defensive leadership within teams’ farm systems. Only one true third baseman appears: Sal Stewart of Cincinnati.
Players featured on this list come from ten countries, with most hailing from the United States but also including representatives from Latin America, Canada, Australia, and Europe.
The Mariners lead all organizations with nine prospects ranked among MLB Pipeline’s Top 100—the highest total since San Diego had ten such players entering 2019. The Reds and White Sox follow with six each; Brewers, Dodgers, and Twins have five apiece; every team is represented by at least one player following these updates.
