JJ Wetherholt continued his strong performance in Triple-A for the Memphis Redbirds, hitting a leadoff home run for the second time in three games. Wetherholt, who was last year's seventh overall pick and is ranked as the top prospect in the St. Louis Cardinals system and sixth overall in MLB, has now hit eight home runs in 24 games since being promoted to Triple-A. Before joining Memphis, he hit seven home runs in 62 games with Double-A Springfield. Wetherholt currently holds a 1.042 OPS at Triple-A and .936 for the season.

Other notable performances across Minor League Baseball included Leo De Vries of High-A Lansing, who had two home runs, a triple, and five RBIs after being traded from San Diego more than two weeks ago. Aiva Arquette of High-A Beloit hit his first professional home run just a month after being drafted seventh overall.

Aidan Miller of Double-A Reading led off with his tenth home run of the season and added an RBI double during his second consecutive multihit game. Ryan Waldschmidt of Double-A Amarillo homered for the second straight night and reached base five times. Joe Mack broke out of a slump with four hits for Triple-A Jacksonville.

Ralphy Velazquez made an impact with Double-A Akron by hitting two home runs and driving in four runs, bringing his summer totals to nine homers and 28 RBIs over 33 games since July 1. Jonathan Santucci struck out a career-high 11 batters over 5 1/3 innings for Double-A Binghamton, maintaining strong numbers since joining the team.
