MLB.TV is offering a free preview of its service from Tuesday through Thursday to coincide with Major League Baseball's Trade Deadline. During this period, out-of-market fans can watch every game for free on various devices, including TVs, tablets, and phones. No credit card is required to access the preview, but blackout and other restrictions apply. Users need only an MLB.com account.
According to MLB.TV, subscribers have the ability to stream every out-of-market game live or on demand throughout the season and gain 24/7 access to MLB Network. The platform also allows viewers to watch live Minor League games and "MLB Big Inning," which provides live look-ins and highlights as key moments occur during the season.
Several matchups are highlighted for the Trade Deadline Free Preview window:
The Rays will face the Yankees in a four-game series that could see both teams making roster changes as they compete in tight AL East and Wild Card races.
The Cubs play a three-game set against the Brewers, with both clubs close in NL Central standings. The Cubs are aiming to end Milwaukee’s two-year run as division champions; these teams will meet again next month at Wrigley Field.
The Mets take on the Padres in what could be a playoff preview. Their last postseason meeting was in 2022 when San Diego won their Wild Card matchup at Citi Field. Last year, New York won five of seven games during their regular-season series.
